The Informant AddOn is a part of the Auctioneer Complete package. Informant is responsible for displaying static information about items, such as vendor prices, professions which use the item, etc.
In earlier releases, this information was contained in the main Auctioneer mod, but it has since been extracted to Informant for greater portability.
